News from the District 216 Transition Committee: Report #2 is Complete

If you haven’t heard about our transition to District 216, please see our Transition page for background. District Transition Committee Chair Carol Prahinski has confirmed that Report #2, a 75-page document capturing the current state of the districts that will become 216, has been submitted as of January 31st.

This report covered the following topics:

  • Websites and technology
  • Club and district leadership training, including training that takes place at the DEC
  • Recognition and incentives, including awards ceremonies
  • PR and communication, including the newsletter and communication tools
  • District events, including conferences, District Council meetings, contests, DTM ceremonies, and special visits from TI dignitaries
  • Operational procedures, including process and development of district leaders
  • Finance and assets, including the District 62 bookstore and budget
  • The District 28 speakers bureau

The Formation of the Teams

For each of the topics above, a subcommittee was formed in December and have met weekly for an hour. The subcommittees range in size from four to six members, where one or two are from each district with two exceptions:

  • The Speakers Bureau subcommittee contains District 28 members and Carol (District 62)
  • The Finance and Assets subcommittee was unable to find a representative from District 11 of Division A

Many of the members conducted additional research to collect information, analyze data, and, for the website team, compared the websites using AI, among other research.

Objective

Carol says:

Our objective is to develop collective insight and understanding of each District, which I believe we have at this time, and then make recommendations, documented in Report #3, based on determining which of many alternatives will be best for our new District.

Although our committee is not responsible for implementing these recommendations, some of our committee members may join the implementation teams.

Other Transition Activities

See our Transition page for information on the other committees working on the transition.

If you have not done so, please add the District 216 Business Meeting to your calendar. If your club is in good standing (meaning that it has at least eight paid members), the President and Vice President Education will have a vote in the upcoming elections.

Thank You

Carol would like to give thanks to following:

  • Our District leaders for their help in providing their knowledge and data,
  • Individuals who volunteered, but were ineligible or had other conflicts, and
  • The members of the District Transition Committee for their hard work and professionalism. Many are on multiple subcommittees. They are a wonderful team and care deeply for the future of our new District. Please pass along your gratitude to them. In alphabetical order:
