Contest season is just around the corner. Here’s what you need to know:
Dates
If your club wants to hold a speech contest, you can do so between December 1st, 2019 and February 1st, 2020. Area level contests must be held between February 1st and March 15th, and division contests must be held between March 16th and April 7th. We’ll be posting area and division contest details on our district event calendar as they’re finalized.
The district contests will be held at our 2020 District Conference on April 17th and 18th.
How It Works
District 28 allows clubs in areas with four or fewer clubs in good standing to send two contestants to the area contest. Clubs in areas with five or more clubs in good standing are allowed one contestant in the area contest. The contestants who place first and second in the area contest will advance to the division contest. The first place contestant in each division contest will advance to the district contest.
If you’re not familiar with areas and divisions, our Introduction to District 28 explains the relationship between your club and these larger groupings of clubs.
