<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">A “proxy” is a document that gives a person the authority to act for another.<SPAN> </SPAN>In Toastmasters, that translates to the power to vote on behalf of a club at a District Council meeting, and at the business meetings held at Regional and International conventions.<SPAN> </SPAN>A club’s vote is very important, as it is a means of making a club’s “voice” heard in a very official way.<O:P></O:P></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoBodyText><B><U>TI proxies were mailed in March 2006 to club presidents, in LIGHT BLUE envelopes.</U></B><SPAN> </SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoBodyText><O:P> </O:P><BR>If your club has lost or misplaced its proxy, a replacement can be requested from TI headquarters by sending an email to <FONT color=#000099><A class=moz-txt-link-abbreviated href="mailto:duplicateproxies@toastmasters.org" target=_blank>duplicateproxies@toastmasters.org</A> </FONT><SPAN> </SPAN>Be sure to include the name and address of your club president. Only one duplicate proxy can be sent to each club.</P><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 8pt"></SPAN>
<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">The Annual Business Meeting is held during the International Convention, August 23-26, 2006, in <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 /><ST1:PLACE w:st="on"><ST1:CITY w:st="on">Washington</ST1:CITY>, <ST1:STATE w:st="on">D.C.</ST1:STATE></ST1:PLACE><SPAN> </SPAN>If a club member will attend, he or she needs to bring the signed form to the International Conference.<SPAN> </SPAN>If no one will attend from the club, the completed proxy should be mailed to the district governor, who will exchange these proxies for votes at International.<BR></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal>If your club is NOT sending a representative, and has NOT sent its proxy yet, please <U>sign</U> and <U>mail</U> it to us by Friday, August 18 at:<BR></P>
