Message-ID: <072120060133.8826.44C02EEE000BB93C0000227A22064244130D039B@comcast.net> Hello Toastmaster, I have one quick question for you: Has Your Club Sent in Its Proxy Yet? A ?proxy? is a document that gives a person the authority to act for another. In Toastmasters, that translates to the power to vote on behalf of a club at a District Council meeting, and at the business meetings held at Regional and International conventions. A club?s vote is very important, as it is a means of making a club?s ?voice? heard in a very official way. TI proxies were mailed in March 2006 to club presidents, in LIGHT BLUE envelopes. If your club has lost or misplaced its proxy, a replacement can be requested from TI headquarters by sending an email to duplicateproxies at toastmasters.org Be sure to include the name and address of your club president. Only one duplicate proxy can be sent to each club. The Annual Business Meeting is held during the International Convention, August 23-26, 2006, in Washington, D.C. If a club member will attend, he or she needs to bring the signed form to the International Conference. If no one will attend from the club, the completed proxy should be mailed to the district governor, who will exchange these proxies for votes at International. If your club is NOT sending a representative, and has NOT sent its proxy yet, please sign and mail it to us by Friday, August 18 at: Mr. Todd M. Brockdorf, DTM 1522 Oakfield Dr. Ann Arbor, MI 48108 Thank you! For Speaking and Leadership Excellence, Todd PS - If you don't know the answer to the opening question, please ask your Club President. If you ARE the Club President, ask your Immediate Past Club President. If you ARE the Immediate Past Club President...well, you better get a duplicate proxy.
