Friday Fun Night
Friday evening will begin with fellowship, fun and feedback. Come observe and support the Evaluation Contestants. You are sure to be enlightened.
You don’t want to miss the Friday Fun Night Group Karaoke & Costume Contest. Everyone is invited to be a part of this friendly, group competition. Professional singers are not required. Good singers are not required. Bad singers are welcome! Wear your favorite costume. If you don’t have a costume, we’ll provide you with one! Would you like to join us for our opening song I Gotta Feeling by The Black-Eyed Peas? To participate, reserve your favorite song and for more information, contact Colette Hughes, our Friday Fun Night Chair.

Our keynote speaker is our fellow District 28 Toastmaster and Region 6 International Director, Vera Johnson, DTM, PDG. Vera saved the best for last! This will be her final official conference visit as International Director.
Communication & Leadership Award
Each year, District 28 recognizes a member of our community with the district’s Communication & Leadership Award. This year’s Communication & Leadership Award will be presented to Margaret Thorpe Williamson, Executive Director & CEO of Pro-Literacy Detroit.
The District 28 semi-annual Business Meeting is always informative. It’s an opportunity to hear district reports and participate in the election of the 2018–2019 district elected positions (Division Directors, Club Growth Director, Program Quality Director and District Director).

International Speech Contest
You will be enthralled as you observe these very proficient speakers. They have advanced through many levels and are now presenting at the district level. Which contestant will go on to compete during the International Convention in Chicago?
All Toastmasters belonging to clubs that have reached distinguished status by 4/17/2018 are invited. There will be refreshments and one special gift per club.
The District Director’s Banquet
Let’s eat, drink, and be merry as we celebrate the accomplishments and growth of our district. District Director Mike Carter, DTM will deliver his outgoing speech and the new Trio members will take the oath of office. Afterwards, we’ll dance the night away!

Vista Maria is recognized for providing best-in-class residential and community-based treatment and therapy for girls, young women, and their families. District 28 is partnering with Vista Maria to provide simple everyday items for the young women they serve. Please see the donation flyer (PDF) for a list of needed items, and visit the Vista Maria website to find out more about the organization. Donations will be accepted at the Spring Conference registration desk. If you won’t be at the conference, please contact Gerry Gordon for arrangements to pick up your donation.
Sunday Morning Table Talk
Sunday morning, from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM in the Hamlin Room. Chat with your fellow Toastmasters, share ideas, ask questions, talk Pathways. Order breakfast from the hotel restaurant and bring it to the room. Ordering in advance is suggested. If you order from room service, ask them to deliver your breakfast to the Hamlin Room. All Toastmasters are invited to join in this opportunity to meet and talk to other club members.
